Weer helemaal de moeite waard! (deel 3 van de serie)

Helaas is dit derde deel van de Gentlemen Bastards serie niet verschenen in het Nederlands. Toch is hij absoluut alle moeite waard!
Nadat hun grootse plan (dat is uitgedacht en uitgespeelt in boek 2) faliekant is misgegaan en ze op het nippertje toch nog levend zijn ontsnapt, vluchten Locke en Jean naar Lashain. Locke is doodziek door vergiftiging en Jean is haastig op zoek naar de beste dokters die Locke hopelijk kunnen redden. Maar het is allemaal te laat, het gif zit al te lang in Locke’s lichaam om hem nog te kunnen redden..
Terwijl Locke zich al bij zijn lot heeft neergelegd, krijgen de twee een wel heel onverwacht bezoek van een van hun ergste vijanden: de Bondsmagi van Karthain. Maar deze keer heeft de vijand een wel héél aantrekkelijk aanbod en afslaan zou zeker Locke’s dood betekenen..
Locke en Jean zijn alles wat nog over is van de Gentlemen Bastards, een groep dieven met veel dubbele agenda’s die eerder Camorr onveilig maakten. Niet zomaar dieven, geen zakkenrollers of gelegenheidsboefjes. Hun geweldig grootse plannen worden tot in detail uitgedacht en laten de rijksten van deze stad als arme idioten achter. Vaak zo vol schaamte en zo berooid dat ze hun slachtofferrol in deze geweldige ‘schemes’ liever stil houden.
Deze serie is geweldig goed geschreven en omschreven tot in ieder spannend detail, zit vol droge humor en botte opmerkingen. Deel 4 in deze serie wordt verwacht in september 2018.
